Spiced Apple Tea
There really isn’t anything like snuggling up with a warm cup of homespun tea by your side!
This intense and flavourful concoction is known to have numerous health benefits which include improving digestion and reducing inflammation. They contain high amounts of antioxidants and vitamin C, along with other vital nutrients.
Apple tea and other fruit teas aren’t technically a “tea”. They’re an infusion of fruit flavours and spices, brewed in hot water.
While we’ve kept this recipe caffeine-free, feel free to add black tea or green tea leaves, if desired.
INGREDIENTS:-
- 2 cups of water
- 1 medium apple, sliced
- 4-5 cloves
- 1 star anise
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp lemon juice (or to taste)
- 1/2 tbsp maple syrup (or to taste)
INSTRUCTIONS:-
- Add the water, apple slices and spices to a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low andgently simmer for 5-7 minutes with the lid on.
- Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to steep for another 10 minutes.
- Stir in the lemon juice and maple syrup. Strain the tea into the cups, making sure to squeeze all the juice out of the apples and serve immediately.
